The signatory parties include Cefor - The Nordic Association of Marine Insurers, The Danish Shipowners' Association, The Finnish Shipowners' Association, The Norwegian Shipowners' Association, and The Swedish Shipowners' Association.

The Nordic Plan 2013 is based on the Norwegian Marine Insurance Plan of 1996, and it incorporates amendments from the Version 2010 of the Norwegian plan. The plan and its commentary are available in English, with translations available in four Nordic languages.

Amendments made to the plan compared to the 2010 version of the Norwegian plan are clearly marked in the printed, web, and app versions of the plan.
